M2M Platforms has developed a GSM/GPRS controlling system called IOPF-1 that can measure analog inputs from a thermocouple monitoring room temperature, or digital inputs from surveillance sensors that detect movement, and then relay outputs to control heaters or other electrical appliances. For this project the company have decided to integrate Telit GSM/GPRS module GE863-PY with Python features since it's the best solution to develop unique, low-cost devices that can control applications with high efficiency. EZ10-GPS is a simple tracking unit with no installation and no monthly fees which tracks a car's location at all times thanks to the Python script software. The EZ10 GPS has no microcontroller, just a simple power supply connected to Telit's GM862-GPS Python module and can provide current location online with Google Earth or by calling the unit to receive the location with SMS. With a low price point and adaptable internal software, the unit can be programmed to client specifications.

The Simple Telemetry Device STD32 is based on Telit's revolutionary GE864-PY GSM technology. Connecting to the power supply allows alarms to be automatically sent via SMS to a preset telephone number. One of the two switching relays can be made to engage for a predetermined period of time in the event of a call from a pre-programmed mobile phone, for example, to switch on a heating or air-conditioning system. Both relays can also be switched on or off independently of each other using pre-set SMS messages and feedback on the switch's current status is also available via SMS. Additionally, each of the two inputs can independently trigger an alarm to be sent via SMS to up to five phone numbers. The STD32 makes it possible, with very little effort, to remotely switch on a home's heating unit in the winter well in advance of the owner's arrival. Alternatively, the module can act as an alarm system with a remote notification function. The module can be adjusted without advanced programming skills and little or no experience with this type of equipment by using Python Easy Script.

The XL-one application uses GM862-GPS. It works without an external processor due to the Python scripting and use of the high sensitivity SiRFStarIII chipset which is embedded in the module Python scripting is used to run the application, internal memory for data storage, GPIO's for LED indicators indicating GPRS connection, system running, GPS on/off or fix. ,Remaining GPIO's are available for additional customer needs. |
